The primary mission of the SVO is to facilitate academic success through the mentorship of veterans and by providing any necessary support. The SVO is dedicated to promoting camaraderie through social events and encouraging personal growth. The organization members are  committed to; the continuous improvement of the organization, creating positive change and maintaining a positive image in the San Diego State University area through community service.

Our purpose is to:
1.Ensure that all veterans at SDSU are receiving all benefits entitled to them.

2.Provide a link to readjustment counseling services if needed.

3.Lobby at the state and federal levels for increases in benefits for student veterans

4.Provide an atmosphere of great fellowship for like-minded individuals.

5.Assist, in any way, in helping our fellow Veterans, Veteran's dependents, active duty personnel, and Veteran supporters realize their full potential in academia, the workplace and in their social circle.
